Job Description:

Team Manager for a First Contact/MASH team in the North East. The team is the first point of contact for new contacts about children, young people and their families in Durham. The MASH supports local safeguarding partners to share information and work together.

Job Responsibility:

Listening and responding to staff and partners at all levels and from a range of different professional backgrounds
Interpreting information, data and intelligence
Communicating and giving feedback
Making informed and evidence based decisions
Creating a positive interface for all MASH practitioners and partners
Keeping pace in a fast moving multi-agency environment
Adhering to strict timescales
Managing the team of social workers and first contact officers

Requirements:

A degree in Social Work or equivalent
Registered with Social Work England
At least 3 years PQE direct employment within English Local Authorities
Completed relevant post-qualifying training
Enhanced DBS check
Excellent communication and written skills
Confident in risk identification and response
Skilled decision-maker
Experienced in child protection social work
Nurturing and encouraging manager able to support a team through a period of change
