Team Manager opportunity in EMPOWER U team (Exploitation and Missing Hub) City Wide Service. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager in the continued development of the EMPOWER U Team (Exploitation and Missing Hub) Citywide Service. The successful person will need to be an innovative individual; to work within the EMPOWER U hub in the areas of child exploitation, missing and wider contextual risks such as Serious Youth Violence and Harm outside the family home.
Job Responsibility:
Supervising and leading a team of Exploitation and Missing Coordinators and Missing Support Workers
Supporting with the development of practice guidance and awareness raising
Writing and analysing performance reports
Chairing a range of meetings (disruption planning, missing, serious youth violence, complex disruption planning, NRM panels)
Promote and manage culture change
Attend child in care planning meetings
Develop a positive working culture
Lead by example
Safeguarding scrutiny and oversight of children missing from home and care
May need to supervise staff/students
Deputise in the absence of the Team Managers
May be required to work flexible and extended hours including weekends
Requirements:
Experience of supervising and leading a team
Good understanding of contextual safeguarding
Excellent chairing, analytical, communication and partnership working skills
Ability to work closely with social care services, police, education, health, voluntary sector, Integrated gang’s team, youth offending services
Subject to enhanced DBS checks and risk assessment including vetting and barring
Must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham
Must have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK
