Job Description

Gateshead Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to lead their Disabled Children's Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a passionate, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality support and safeguarding to children with disabilities and their families.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide strong leadership, supervision, and guidance to social workers and support staff
  • Oversee case allocations, assessments, and care planning, ensuring high standards of practice
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Manage team budgets and resources effectively
  • Collaborate with health, education, and voluntary sector partners to ensure holistic care.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW)
  • Proven experience as a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner within a Disabled Children's or Children's Social Care team
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
