Job Description:

This ad is for the role of Team Manager of the Data Science team. Your typical week includes driving continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing; collaborating with stakeholders; and supporting a culture of data-driven decision making.

Job Responsibility:

  • Driving continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing of methodologies, tools and materials across the IKEA Data Analytics community
  • Collaborating and communicating with other parts of the organization to understand the needs of stakeholders and devise possible solutions
  • Ensuring consistency by supporting the use of relevant development techniques, digital frameworks, and best practices
  • Being responsible for making sure that the insights and conclusions from data science are easily available to other parts of the organization
  • Supporting a culture of data-driven decision making across IKEA organizations
  • Working closely together with data scientists, data engineers, architects, analysts, peers, and other relevant roles across IKEA as well as in your team
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technological trends
  • Assuring quality and contribute to development and testing of deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Expertise and passion in understanding business problems and applying Data & Analytics to try and solve them
  • Direct or indirect management experience - leading people to perform and deliver, continuously work with competence development, recruitment, and proactive succession within the area of responsibility
  • Capability to effectively lead and manage Core Business Range team of Data Scientists
  • Experience in developing data and statistics-driven solutions for real-life business problems
  • Ability to clearly communicate statistical and machine learning concepts to non-technical audience
  • Ability to act as Core Business Range point of contact and escalation within the IKEA Data Science community
  • Ability to provide technical leadership for Data Scientists in the organization, fostering a culture of support and collaboration in the team and across the Data & Analytics organization.

Nice to have:

  • Proven track record in preparing and enabling the implementation of common ways of working, tools and competence in the business
  • Strong capability in delivering to Organization strategies and goals
  • Well-versed in budgeting process by preparing initiated input on need of resources, development and investment or service needs
  • Experience working in an agile set-up
  • Ability to enable preconditions for the team to perform their assignment according to our IKEA values and set business priorities.
