Team Leader

• Assessing work / instructions received from Management
• Planning, organising, delegating work and managing resources to workload
• Liaising with Management to ensure the team has the necessary resources to achieve deadlines
• Monitoring progress of work
• Ensuring Safe Working Procedures are followed always by the team & maintaining high levels of health and safety
• Identifying training needs for both new and existing staff
• Providing feedback to the team
• Assuming responsibility for quality of work & rectifying snags
• Ensuring a clean and tidy work area is maintained
• To assemble electrical control panels/switchgear accurately and on time
• Understand and interpret electrical schematics in line with specification requirements for LV Switchgear and Control Systems
• Understanding the correct use of fixings for different aspects of the works
• Liaise with Production Manager regarding overtime cover and authorising holidays
• Holding Daily ‘Toolbox’ talks with team members

• Ability to work under pressure, lead by example and work as team or individually
• Apprentice or time-served in an electrical discipline would be highly desired, such as installations or panel wiring or an electrical qualification
• Able to understand drawings and predict possible assembly or quality issues
• Reliable and trustworthy with a meticulous & positive approach to work
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, contractors, Customers and Auditors
• Ability to work to and maintain deadlines with a results driven approach
• Familiar with mechanical assembly of devices and copper busbar systems
• Competent with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint & Word

Experience in building and testing Switchgear would be an advantage
