Job Description:

As a forklift operator for receiving/shipping, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of goods, loading and unloading trucks, maintaining stock records, verifying product compliance with shipping documents, and coordinating logistics to ensure a smooth flow of operations. Additionally, you will need to ensure that safety standards and operational procedures are strictly followed to guarantee the quality and efficiency of the logistics process.

Job Responsibility:

Receive and identify raw materials in accordance with company procedures
Prepare customer orders while adhering to company procedures (FIFO, documentation, WHMIS)
Prepare shipping documents for orders (Packing slip) and bills of lading
Load and unload trucks
Actively participate in physical inventory counts in the warehouse
Store finished products and materials in the warehouse, ensuring proper recording of locations for effective stock management
Group items together by placing the most recent production at the back or bottom of the pallet
Follow the Quality Assurance process to ensure product specifications and company policies and procedures are met
Maintain and promote a safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures
Keep equipment and the work area clean and in good condition
Adhere to health and safety procedures and policies
Be flexible to meet production needs
Suggest improvements for operational efficiency when necessary
Regularly check the condition of forklifts
Perform any other related tasks

Requirements:

Ability to read, write, calculate, and perform basic math
Possess a valid forklift driver’s license
Experience with double-reach forklifts
Be available and open-minded
Be clean and organized
Be in good physical condition
Demonstrate leadership
1-2 years of experience in warehouse operations or a similar role
Familiarity with inventory management systems
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs)
Proficient in using warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks and scanners
Basic knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and procedures
Valid forklift operator certification
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Adaptability and willingness to take on new tasks
