Randstad is proud to partner with a prominent local government body to recruit a Team Leader Strategic Planning. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a visionary urban planning professional to lead a dedicated team in shaping the future of one of Sydney's most iconic districts.
Job Responsibility:
Overseeing the day-to-day activities, performance reviews, and professional development of the strategic planning team.
Preparing and monitoring the Delivery Program and Operational Plan (DPOP), as well as statutory instruments like LEPs and DCPs.
Providing expert planning and placemaking advice to Council, staff, and external stakeholders.
Preparing high-quality, plain-English reports and briefings for Council committees and working parties.
Championing best-practice community consultation to ensure diverse feedback on planning strategies.
Acting as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court when required.
Requirements:
A tertiary degree in Town Planning or a related field.
Proven skills in team leadership and managing complex projects involving external consultants.
Extensive hands-on experience in preparing and implementing LEPs, planning proposals, and contribution plans.
Exceptional written and oral skills, with the ability to present complex information to public forums and committees.
Strong proficiency in research and providing concise recommendations within tight statutory timeframes.
A current Class C driver's licence.
