Job Description

This position reports to the Production Controls and Logistics (PC&L) group. The schedule for this role is 12 hours Day 6:00am-6:30pm. One week you would work 3 nights and the next week you would work 4 nights. This is not a swing shift, just the nights in which you work rotate. Every other weekend off.

Job Responsibility

  • Create, analyze, and deliver reports impacting KPI's to all levels of the organization
  • Collaborate and share continuous improvement efforts
  • Facilitate and lead team to implement continuous improvement projects
  • Facilitate communication between team, support groups and management
  • Understand, train, and develop employees all duties as outlined in PC&L job descriptions
  • Mediate conflict between employees and departments
  • Be accountable to PC&L department objectives
  • Actively participate in leadership development activities
  • Evaluate employee performance during and after orientation
  • Complete Team Leader standard work
  • Compile, store and retrieve PC&L data
  • Coordinate activities to meet internal and external customers needs
  • Support change management initiatives
  • Complete and submit Monthly Safety training
  • Adherence to FIFO standards
  • Complete initial investigation and documentation for safety incidents
  • SAP entries and transactions
  • Use hold tags to process defective parts
  • Support self-development
  • Safely operate equipment and maintain certifications
  • Read and understand work instructions
  • Manually load and unload materials
  • Accurately enter materials transactional information into SAP
  • Read electronic and manual bill of materials
  • Use deviation areas and hold tags
  • Load/Unload materials into trailers
  • Provide support on inventory management
  • Assist in training employees
  • Repack material for production line
  • Ensure hazmat shipping and receiving requirements
  • Ensure safety requirements are followed

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or basic skills assessment required
  • 6 months experience in automotive manufacturing material handling/specialist role required including utilizing lean concepts
  • 1-3 years experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment
  • 6 months of experience in SAP/ERP systems preferred
  • Familiarity with key performance indicators of a logistics department
  • Proven track record of excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexible work schedule/ability to work overtime as needed
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of SAP software, Leading to Lean, Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint Presentations and Word

Nice to have

  • 6 months battery material movement preferred
  • 6 months of experience in SAP/ERP systems preferred
