Job Responsibility

  • Ensuring the company values are promoted and maintained
  • Being the interface for projects between the client, design team and the project delivery team to support successful delivery
  • Ensuring efficient and timely implementation of project requirements and maintaining projects on time and on budget
  • Ensuring adequate and timely communication channels are in place to support effective project delivery
  • Management of appropriate design, programme and cost information to allow recommendations and support decision making
  • Providing guidance on the most effective procurement approach to achieve project deliverables
  • Managing a portfolio of clients (billing, relationship and engagement management)
  • Providing cost advice to clients when needed, for both project work and within relevant reports
  • Providing accurate measures from consultant’s drawings
  • Actively participating in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring a full and comprehensive understanding of the project requirements is conveyed and reflected in tender documentation
  • Negotiating with contractors to ensure tender costs represent best value
  • Review and commenting upon tender return
  • The preparation of contract documents
  • Reviewing contractor’s variations
  • Undertaking life cycle costs
  • Undertaking valuations of the M&E services
  • Reporting cost in a timely manner to the client

  • Undertaking team member reviews
  • Support the QS North management team with fee management directly related to M&E commissions
  • Building strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants and contractors

  • Communicating clearly, concisely and coherently with the client and other consultants
  • Identifying risks and issues with ongoing activities and positively identifying mitigation measures
  • Exhibiting high level of technical skill

Requirements

  • A distinguished expert in at least one service or industry
  • In-depth knowledge of M&E systems
  • Proven ability to complete technical projects with minimal assistance from others
  • Demonstrate contract administration experience across a range of projects and successful delivery of them
  • Demonstrable knowledge of different tender options
  • Demonstrable knowledge of different contracts
  • CADMeasure skills
  • CATO skills
  • Accurate and excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrable involvement and good working relationships with several clients
  • Able to instil positivity in junior members of the team through support and encouragement, recognising different team members may require a different approach
  • Able to manage multiple projects - prioritising and co-ordinating tasks efficiently to ensure all deadlines are met
  • A team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Confident and assertive where required
