Job Description:

The Team Leader Infrastructure Planning leads the planning of efficient, smart, high-performing and integrated water and wastewater assets. In this role you will lead a team of planning engineers and engineering contractors to deliver the water and wastewater infrastructure planning program. This position plays a leading role in building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. You will work closely with our Infrastructure Strategy and Capital Delivery teams to ensure the transition of infrastructure projects from strategy to planning and from planning to capital delivery. This role is a full-time ongoing opportunity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team of planning engineers and engineering contractors to deliver the water and wastewater infrastructure planning program, including projects such as: Master Plans for water and wastewater for towns
  • Infrastructure feasibility assessments
  • Concept and functional designs
  • Lead the updates to a rolling 10-year Capital Program of works based on the Master Plans and the long-term financial model
  • Provide engineering and technical advice on a range of matters including: Land development inquiries
  • Proposed infrastructure
  • Alterations to North East Water assets or operations
  • Ensure engineering and project management are practiced from a basis of sound knowledge, in accordance with legislations, codes of practice, regulatory and statutory obligations, standards and industry accepted best practices
  • Provide excellent leadership to the team

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and support a team to succeed
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to undertake engineering analysis and provide technical advice on proposed infrastructure works
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, contract management and budget management
  • Tertiary or postgraduate qualification(s) in Engineering
  • Candidates must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a foreign national with authorisation to work in Australia
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and/or pre-employment medical and functional testing where applicable.
