Job Description

Join us as Team Leader – Electrical Instrumentation and Automation Engineering to plan, supervise, and manage EIA engineering in customer projects and development projects with the help of the reporting team in the High Speed Separator Modules domain and Plate Heat Exchanger Evaporator Module domain for energy business in India and the global market. To own technical know-how and to develop the same across the team. Stay up to date with new technologies & keep the team on track with new market conditions. Lead engineering activity for Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation disciplines.

Job Responsibility

  • Design & engineering approval
  • Costing approvals
  • Engineering schedule planning & approval, compensation recommendations, training & career development approvals
  • Employee management (including hiring & firing), motivation of employees and practical employee administration (vacation plans, sickness, travel booking, travel rules and payments and office space)
  • Resource management including distributing project work and other tasks to employees and follow up direct line reporting
  • Resource forecasting
  • Act as liaison between different stakeholders
  • Responsible for and have the authority to make decisions, manage the project budget and manage the allocated resources, within given time frame
  • Cost evaluation for the project
  • Instrument’s, Control valve Selection, Sizing and datasheet preparation as per project requirement
  • Carry out electrical and automation engineering which include electrical specifications of skids, calculations, hardware and software specification of electrical and control panels, instrumentation, necessary technical documentation, O&M manuals, follow-up at the sub-suppliers and hotline support for start-up of the modules
  • Coordinate for FAT & SAT and other inspection requirements
  • Regularly monitor the progress, resolve operational hurdles/ bottlenecks that might hamper execution of project
  • Ensure the business is conducted in a sound manner and in accordance with internal rules, hereunder 6 Basics
  • Identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
  • Implementing best practices in engineering activities

  • To understand ‘Energy Engineering’ specific process requirement and implement those in engineering process

  • Attend technical review meetings with customer, consultants and external suppliers and implement the requirements in engineering activities

  • Ensure smooth handover of project closure document to BU and E&S
  • As a manager, stimulate people, motivate and inspire them through emotional involvement

Requirements

  • 12-15+years industrial Experience in Electrical Engineering and in the domain of skid-based module’s design in energy industries
  • Graduate /Postgraduate –Electrical /Instrumentation Engineering
  • Good knowledge of engineering codes & standards related to electrical engineering
  • Practical experience with module engineering & design (PID, Layout) for Alfa Laval specific applications
  • Industry Knowledge –High Speed separator modules
  • Good understanding of engineering tools. MS Office. MS Project or any other project management tool
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Project management skills with relevant experience
  • Business understanding and strategic overview
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Cross-cultural awareness
