Job Description:

Inspire and implement positive change in the lives of children who have experienced significant trauma. We want you to join us on our journey to provide children with structure, purpose, and direction through the delivery of trauma-informed care. Providing safe, supportive environments where children heal and thrive. This is a nights role. Team Leader Role Summary: To provide oversight of Support workers within the home, whilst working within a team providing care and support to complex children and young people, ensuring their safety and development of positive outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Create a safe haven where laughter is the language, and hugs are the currency
  • Oversee the operational running of the home and the team in the absence of the First Line Manager
  • Role model positive behaviours and values, leading by example and inspiring our young people and the staff team
  • Respect our children’s privacy and fight for their rights
  • Lead and evaluate the effectiveness of children’s care plans and risk assessments, constantly striving to meet changing children’s needs
  • Support the management team in providing high-quality and person-centred supervision and direction to the staff team
  • Form meaningful relationships with children, their families, and the wider MDT team

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with complex and challenging children
  • Experience of working with young people with emotional and behavioural issues and complex needs including challenging behaviours
  • A nurturing and supportive individual who provides children with high levels of care and support, enabling them to achieve positive outcomes
  • Experience of working with children with behaviours that challenge people
  • Great organisational skills, being creative and able to think outside the box
  • Effective communication skills, excellent listening skills, and a willingness to learn
  • Understanding of attachment and trauma in relation to children
  • Resilience when faced with difficult challenges
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work flexibly and creatively to overcome challenges
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to think clearly and follow set procedures
  • Willingness to be flexible and work as part of a rota including sleep ins
  • Must be over 25 years old
  • Must be a driver and have a clean driving license with no fault claims
