We are looking for an experienced and child-focused Team Leader to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You will play a key role in leading shifts, guiding and mentoring the staff team, and ensuring young people receive consistent, high-quality care in line with the Children's Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards. As Team Leader, you will help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people feel supported, understood and empowered. You will promote a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach, ensuring routines, boundaries and positive behaviour strategies are applied consistently. You will also contribute to care planning, risk management and progress monitoring, ensuring each young person's individual needs, education and emotional wellbeing remain at the centre of practice. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone confident in shift leading, decision making and supporting staff development while maintaining high safeguarding standards.
Job Responsibility:
Lead shifts and provide direction to Residential Support Workers
Promote a therapeutic, child-centred approach
Safeguard and protect young people at all times
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and review reports
Liaise with social workers, education providers and external professionals
Ensure the home remains compliant and well organised
Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence
Level 3 or Level 4 in Children & Young People (or working towards)
Minimum 2 years' residential childcare experience
Experience supporting young people with EBD, ASC, ADHD or SEMH
