Job Description:

Lead the team securing and improving on-premise software deployment and operations. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a small team of software and DevOps engineers. This team is responsible for the software lifecycle, from initial implementation to operations, incident management, and continuous improvement, for our on-premise systems. Bringing a blend of strong technical background, a service mindset, and people leadership, you will ensure our on-prem customer environments meet demanding availability, security, and compliance requirements, while enabling surrounding teams to deliver value quickly and safely.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the team securing and improving on-premise software deployment and operations
  • Drive technical solutions and processes to minimize service disruption during upgrades, aiming for near-zero downtime deployment methodologies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously evolve software lifecycle management strategy, governance, and playbook for all major and minor software upgrades
  • Lead, mentor and grow a team of software and DevOps engineers working on‑prem infrastructure and services. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support career development and performance management
  • Own and evolve the maintenance tooling, content, and workflows, requesting new tools from engineering when needed
  • Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and risks across the on-premise landscape through pragmatic improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure on‑prem environments meet regulatory, contractual and internal security requirement

Requirements:

  • A strong dual foundation in both software development and DevOps principles
  • Strong experience with on-premise and secure / regulated environments
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, with a focus on on-prem software releases and update deployment, configuration and operational management of software services, particularly within Kubernetes
  • Proven team leadership and people management skills
  • Proven ability to create and document scalable processes
  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
