Lead the team securing and improving on-premise software deployment and operations. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a small team of software and DevOps engineers. This team is responsible for the software lifecycle, from initial implementation to operations, incident management, and continuous improvement, for our on-premise systems. Bringing a blend of strong technical background, a service mindset, and people leadership, you will ensure our on-prem customer environments meet demanding availability, security, and compliance requirements, while enabling surrounding teams to deliver value quickly and safely.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the team securing and improving on-premise software deployment and operations
Drive technical solutions and processes to minimize service disruption during upgrades, aiming for near-zero downtime deployment methodologies
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously evolve software lifecycle management strategy, governance, and playbook for all major and minor software upgrades
Lead, mentor and grow a team of software and DevOps engineers working on‑prem infrastructure and services. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support career development and performance management
Own and evolve the maintenance tooling, content, and workflows, requesting new tools from engineering when needed
Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and risks across the on-premise landscape through pragmatic improvement initiatives
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure on‑prem environments meet regulatory, contractual and internal security requirement
Requirements:
A strong dual foundation in both software development and DevOps principles
Strong experience with on-premise and secure / regulated environments
At least 8 years of professional experience, with a focus on on-prem software releases and update deployment, configuration and operational management of software services, particularly within Kubernetes
Proven team leadership and people management skills
Proven ability to create and document scalable processes
Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
