Job Description

The Team Lead, Network & Voice is a developing management role, responsible for guiding a team of network engineers and specialists to design, implement, and maintain a robust and efficient network infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise, managerial, and project management skills to ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality network solutions that meet business needs. The Senior Team Lead, Network Engineering is also responsible for driving collaboration, setting technical standards, and mentoring team members.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborates with the team to design and architect network solutions, including LAN, WAN, data centre, and cloud networks
  • Ensures that network designs align with business requirements and industry best practices
  • Provides technical guidance and oversight to team members during the design, configuration, and implementation of network solutions
  • Reviews and approves network designs and configurations
  • Oversees the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers
  • Leads network-related projects, establishes project plans, allocates resources, and ensures that projects are completed on time and within scope
  • Leads efforts to optimise network performance by analysing traffic patterns, implementing QoS measures, and making configuration adjustments
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, security teams, application developers, and business stakeholders
  • Communicates effectively to ensure smooth project execution and knowledge sharing
  • Establishes and enforces technical standards, best practices, and governance processes for network engineering
  • Ensures compliance with industry regulations and security policies

Requirements

  • Solid expertise in networking concepts, protocols, architectures, and services
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing complex network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers
  • Knowledge of advanced network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and security protocols
  • Good documentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Project management, resource allocation, and budget management abilities
  • Good problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
  • Developing people management capabilities with a focus on collaboration and fostering innovation
  • Ability to manage and lead technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Solid experience in network engineering, including progressive roles in design, implementation, and leadership
  • Solid experience working in a networking environment
  • Solid experience with network security
  • Solid WAN and LAN experience
  • Solid experience in wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design
  • Relevant experience leading and managing a networking (or similar) engineering team
