Job Description:

As the Machine Identity and Cryptography Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team that oversees the lifecycle of cryptographic assets, including SSL certificates and SSH keys. You will ensure secure and efficient operations, drive process improvements, and collaborate with global teams to maintain alignment with HSBC’s security, risk, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to engage with stakeholders across the organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of SSL certificates, ensuring secure and efficient operations
  • Drive and implement processes for SSH key management using the CLM dedicated Platform
  • Engage with business functions to explain the in-scope process and provide support to ensure progress
  • Implement and maintain Change Management controls to support cryptographic tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connection issues between CLM and target servers
  • Collaborate closely with global team members to ensure alignment and consistency in cryptographic practices
  • Lead and mentor team members, ensuring effective workload management and professional development
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive the implementation of changes to enhance operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in people management, including workload prioritization and team development
  • Strong customer and stakeholder focus, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal/external stakeholders, cross-functional IT teams, and global/local IT teams
  • Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure
  • Operational effectiveness, delivering solutions that align with approved design patterns and meet security, risk, and regulatory standards
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure technical platforms and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement and successfully implement change
  • Experience with CLM Platforms (Venafi TPP/Keyfactor/Sectigo) is highly advantageous
  • Strong understanding of SSH functionality and usage
