Job Description

The Team Lead, Client Projects is an entry level management role, responsible with supporting the development and directing the planning of multiple projects related to client implementation. This role learns coordinates and manages a team of project administrators / coordinators to successfully complete client implementation projects, from initiation to completion within budget and on time, using either a waterfall or agile methodology. This entry level people management role supports the fostering of a culture of collaboration and innovation across their team focused on achieving operational excellence.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversees the execution and completion of client implementation projects
  • Provides budget analysis, labour planning, and coordination of activities between client and company employees
  • Monitors project completion from initiation through delivery to meet revenue and cost projections
  • Oversees performance of the installation and client acceptance of capitalized equipment, enterprise software systems, or system integration projects or engagements
  • Serves as a mediator to internal issues and conflicting priorities for members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing solutions to clients
  • Creates the project management plan based on requirements and obtain sign off
  • Tracks standard projects cost to monitor compliance to budget
  • Develops and manages a detailed client implementation project schedule and work plan
  • Provides project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilizes industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Measures project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Oversees all incoming and outgoing project documentation and administration and develop relevant project status and related reports
  • Ensures that project milestones are met, project scope changes are aligned to budget and managed effectively
  • Actions improvements from project reviews using artefacts from projects including historical metrics to improve current project processes and increase project quality delivery
  • Leads and manages a team of project administrator and coordinators. Provides guidance, mentorship, and support team, ensuring their effectiveness, productivity, and professional growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in the relevant field of study
  • Relevant certifications, such as PMI, Project management professional, CAPM, PMP or Prince 2 etc.
  • Relevant professional experience in project management gained within a global IT services organization
  • Relevant project management experience including medium complexity, cross services / technology domain solutions
  • Relevant experience using with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Relevant experience managing the entire project lifecycle
  • Relevant experience coordinating operational tasks of a team
  • Relevant experience delivering client implementation projects
  • Relevant experience delivering projects using an agile methodology
  • Relevant experience interacting with client stakeholders on planning, progress tracking, communication, and escalation activities
  • Entry level people management experience gained within a similar role preferably within a global IT Services organization
