Job Description

ICEYE is seeking a Avionics Production Team Lead to take ownership of all electronics-related activities across the satellite production lifecycle—from incoming PCBA verification to full satellite-level avionics testing. This is a critical, hands-on leadership role at the core of ICEYE’s spacecraft manufacturing operations. You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for electrical subsystem assembly, functional testing, and inspection—ensuring that every electronic element of the spacecraft meets our rigorous quality and reliability standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the electronics production team, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery of assemblies and tests
  • Oversee the verification of incoming PCBAs and ensure readiness of electronic components for integration
  • Supervise electrical subsystem assembly processes, including harness installation, interface checks, and component integration
  • Own the planning, execution, and reporting of subsystem-level functional tests and inspections
  • Lead avionics testing at the satellite level, ensuring all onboard electronics perform reliably in end-to-end configurations—executed together with your team and in close collaboration with others in a matrix structure
  • Ensure test benches, tools, and setups are maintained, functional, and compliant with safety and quality standards
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, test procedures, and checklists in collaboration with AIT Engineering and Quality teams
  • Train and mentor technicians on best practices in electronics assembly, handling, ESD protection, and fault diagnostics
  • Drive process improvements to increase throughput, reduce rework, and enhance traceability and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production Engineering, and AIT Engineering teams to support troubleshooting and root cause analysis during integration
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace and electronics quality standards (IPC, ECSS, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in alignment with Lean and 6S practices
  • Monitor build progress, proactively identify blockers, and work with planning and supply chain teams to resolve issues
  • Support production ramp-up as ICEYE scales its satellite output, contributing to the growth and development of a high-performing team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics production, integration, or testing—preferably in aerospace or other high-reliability environments
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams in a production or test environment
  • Experience in functional and system-level testing of Complex systems
  • Experience working with test benches, tooling, and production documentation
  • Experience in root cause analysis, diagnostics, and fault isolation of electronic systems
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills—especially with Engineering, AIT, and Quality teams
  • Strong mindset of ownership, quality, structure, and continuous improvement
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing, 6S, or similar process improvement methodologies
  • Structured and quality-driven, but thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and adapting to changing priorities
  • Strong team builder, people mentor, and hands-on leader—leads by example
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented, with a willingness to improve processes, not just follow them

Nice to have

  • Background in NewSpace, satellite production, or high-volume aerospace integration
  • Experience in writing and optimizing assembly and test procedures
  • System-level understanding of satellite avionics architecture and electronics interfaces
  • Familiarity with satellite avionics architecture or embedded systems
  • Strong background in electronic subsystem assembly, harnessing, and ESD-safe practices
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards (IPC, ECSS, or equivalent)

What we offer

  • Occupational healthcare, occupational, and accident insurance
  • A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
  • Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
  • Relocation support (i.e. flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support)
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
