Job Description

ICEYE is looking for an AIT Engineering Team Lead to head one of the most critical technical teams in the organization. In this role, you will lead a team of senior or staff multidisciplinary engineers responsible for ensuring our satellites are manufacturable, testable, and production-ready at scale. Acting as the key link between engineering and production, the AIT Engineering team plays an essential role throughout the full satellite lifecycle, from early design and technical reviews through integration, test, and delivery. Your team will ensure that what is designed can be reliably built and scaled, while supporting production, resolving issues, and driving feedback into continuous product and process improvements.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive both the technical direction and operational effectiveness of the team
  • Lead work across all major satellite domains including: power, payload, avionics, software-hardware interface, communications, and system-level verification
  • Represent AIT Engineering across projects and disciplines
  • Guide the team through new satellite designs, production ramp-up, and mission-critical troubleshooting
  • Apply your system-level understanding and hands-on spacecraft development or testing experience to ensure mission success
  • Contribute to building high-reliability hardware at scale

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in the development, integration, testing, or production of complex hardware systems (e.g., aerospace, automotive, defense, semiconductors, satellites), preferably with full-lifecycle ownership from design to deployment
  • Proven leadership in multidisciplinary engineering environments, with experience mentoring senior engineers and driving cross-functional collaboration
  • Deep technical knowledge in at least one engineering discipline (e.g., electronics, mechanical, systems, software), with system-level understanding across full product or system architectures
  • Familiarity with integration, verification, production ramp-up, and configuration management processes in complex hardware industries
  • A systems engineering mindset, able to spot issues across interfaces, anticipate integration risks, and connect the dots between design, production, and operations
  • Experience supporting technical and production readiness reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, PRR or equivalent) and translating design decisions into manufacturable, testable solutions
  • Strong track record of enabling design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) in high-reliability environments
  • Clear communication skills and confidence interfacing with designers, production leads, and executive stakeholders
  • Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving, including root cause analysis and implementing feedback loops into design and processes
  • A continuous improvement mindset, driving toward higher levels of reliability, repeatability, and operational efficiency as production volumes increase

What we offer

  • Occupational healthcare, occupational, and accident insurance
  • A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
  • Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
  • Relocation support (i.e. flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support)
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
