As the Team Lead – Payroll Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll process for multiple clients. You will lead and mentor a team, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services while maintaining strict compliance with Sri Lankan labor laws and tax regulations. This role requires a proactive professional who can manage complex client inquiries, coordinate with various stakeholders, and drive operational efficiency to ensure high client satisfaction.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and supervise the payroll team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for multiple clients
act as the primary point of contact for client escalations and complex payroll queries
review and approve payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and final reports before submission
ensure compliance with Sri Lankan labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements (EPF, ETF, API Tax, etc.)
coordinate with internal departments (HR, Finance, IT) and external stakeholders (clients, auditors, regulators)
maintain and update payroll policies, procedures, and documentation
train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance performance and service delivery
monitor SLAs and KPIs to ensure client satisfaction and operational efficiency
Requirements:
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in payroll processing
at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role
strong knowledge of Sri Lankan payroll regulations and statutory compliance
experience working in a payroll outsourcing or shared services environment is preferred
proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel
excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively
