Job Description:

The Teaching Professional delivers high-quality golf instruction to players of all ages and skill levels, with significant involvement in both adult group programming and junior development. This full-time position includes participation in our adult classes, beginner programs, women’s clinics, and competitive coaching, as well as our junior programs such as Summer Camp, PGA Jr. League, and Operation 36. Instruction occurs outdoors on range mats, the practice green, and on the golf course. Weekend and evening availability is required, with a 6-day workweek during peak season. Winter hours may vary depending on the weather.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide private lessons to golfers of all ages and abilities
  • Lead adult group programs including beginner classes, advanced classes, women’s clinics, improvement series, and specialty sessions
  • Coach junior programs including Summer Camp (3x per week), PGA Jr. League, tournament series, and group classes
  • Conduct on-course lessons, playing lessons, and performance-based coaching sessions
  • Use FlightScope technology and video analysis to enhance student improvement and engagement
  • Assist in designing, promoting, and executing adult and junior programs
  • Support golf shop and outside operations as needed
  • Maintain accurate schedules, student records, and communication via scheduling platforms
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for all guests
  • Uphold Reston National’s customer service standards with a welcoming, enthusiastic approach
  • Collaborate with the professional staff to grow program participation, improve retention, and develop new offerings
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the game and the facility

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and a 6-day workweek during peak season
  • Experience working with both adults and juniors, including beginner development and group instruction
  • Technology proficiency: Video analysis, Excel, scheduling/booking systems

Nice to have:

  • PGA Member or Associate (in good standing)
  • Minimum 2 years teaching/coaching experience
  • Background in women’s programs, competitive coaching, and multi-level group instruction
  • Familiarity with PGA Jr. League and other structured development pathways
  • Foresight launch monitor
