Job Description:

EdEx is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support a mainstream primary school’s Speech, Communication, and Language provision in Tower Hamlets. The role involves assisting children with various needs, including Speech and Language, Communication, Social and Autism support, both verbal and non-verbal. Graduates interested in fields like Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, or related areas can gain hands-on experience for future academic or professional pursuits.

Job Responsibility:

Opportunity to take part and lead specialist interventions in Lego Therapy, Speech and Language, Zones of Regulation
Work closely with specialist Teachers, Therapists & Psychologists to support primary aged pupils with various needs
Receive training and support while working across Key Stage 1 – Key Stage 2
Support students with wide-ranging needs 1-2-1 and in small groups, inside and outside of classrooms

Requirements:

A graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 – subject isn’t a barrier, ideally from a reputable university
Good A-Levels and GCSEs – including English at GCSE
Previous experience supporting children, young people or adolescents – Essential
A genuine passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning
An inquisitive, warm and nurturing personality
Must be able to speak confidently and calmly – personality is everything in these roles

Nice to have:

Experience in tutoring, nannying, babysitting, volunteering or personal experience
Interest in Speech and Language Therapy, Psychotherapy, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology
