Job Description:

This role will be an integral part of the school's support team, directly impacting the learning and development of students with additional needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to students with SEMH needs in a classroom setting
  • Assist the teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Support students with their learning, both individually and in groups
  • Implement and monitor individualised education programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective strategies for student support
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and have a positive attitude
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to supporting the learning and development of students with additional needs
