Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated primary school team. This is a critical role focusing on providing one-to-one and small group support, particularly for a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who requires consistent, nurturing, and structured assistance.

Job Responsibility:

Provide high-quality, targeted one-to-one support to a student with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
Assist the class teacher in planning and preparing resources, with a focus on adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs suitable for primary learners
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of the supported child within the classroom and school community
Contribute to the effective monitoring and reporting of the student's progress, including implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets
Supervise students during non-contact time, including lunch and play
Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment

Requirements:

A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a primary school setting
Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
A positive, patient, and flexible approach to working with children and staff
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Nice to have:

Relevant Level 2 or 3 TA qualification
Experience with specific interventions or strategies related to supporting complex learning needs
