Primary Teaching Assistant - Day-to-Day Supply. Location: Plymouth & Surrounding Areas. Pay: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay). Contract: Day-to-Day Supply (Flexible). Are you looking for a rewarding role in local Primary schools? Do you want the freedom to choose when and where you work? We are seeking friendly, energetic Primary Teaching Assistants to join our Plymouth supply team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across various local Primary schools, supporting children from EYFS through to Year 6.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting the teacher with lesson setup and helping pupils stay on task
  • Supporting small groups with reading, writing, and phonics (KS1) or numeracy and literacy (KS2)
  • Helping younger children learn through play and develop their social skills
  • Providing a supportive environment and helping with lunchtime or playground supervision

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children (schools, nurseries, sports coaching, or youth groups)
  • A good standard of English and Maths
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one)
  • Proactive and approachable

Nice to have:

  • Health and social care experience
  • Health and social care qualifications (NVQ)
  • HLTA
  • NVQ level 2
  • NVQ level 3
  • NVQ level 4
  • Background in youth work
  • Behaviour management
  • Experience in administering medication
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience with autism spectrum disorders
  • Experience with learning difficulties
  • Experience with social emotional mental health
  • Restraint training
  • Speech and language therapy experience
