Job Description:

Linwood Campus is part of Linwood School, an ‘Outstanding’ multi-campus, day special school for children and young people aged 4 – 19. Linwood Campus, based in Winton, welcomes students from a wide geographical area and supports a comprehensive range of special educational needs including moderate (MLD), severe (SLD) and profound (PMLD) and complex learning difficulties (CLDD) as well as those on the Autism spectrum. We are committed to empowering each child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a safe and supportive educational setting.

Job Responsibility:

Work with students with PMLD who require high levels of care including toileting and personal care
Assistance with eating and drinking
Administering medication
Attend Monday after school training sessions

Requirements:

Highly motivated and committed
Resilience
Ability to communicate effectively using a range of tools
Previous experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties is desirable but not essential
Subject to a 6-month mandatory probation
Expectation to attend Monday after school training sessions
Must not be barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children
Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check
Overseas criminal record check if lived or worked outside the UK in the past 10 years
Satisfactory references

Nice to have:

Previous experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties
