Teaching Assistant

• Working with students with PMLD who require high levels of care including toileting and personal care
• Assistance with eating and drinking
• Administering medication
• Supporting students academically, socially and emotionally within a safe and supportive educational setting
• Attending Monday after school training sessions during probation

• Highly motivated and committed

• Ability to communicate effectively using a range of tools
• Previous experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties is desirable but not essential
• Subject to enhanced DBS check
• Subject to overseas criminal record check if lived or worked outside UK in past 10 years
• Subject to satisfactory references, health assessments, and right-to-work checks
• Must adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies
• Role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
• Must not be barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children
