Teaching Assistants Needed Across Sefton! We are urgently seeking committed, enthusiastic Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join crucial teams within Secondary Schools across the entire Sefton Borough. No Experience? No Problem! We do not require formal teaching qualifications or prior TA experience. We believe the right skills and attitude are more important.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help students learn in small groups
  • Give extra support to students who are struggling
  • Encourage good behaviour and positive attitudes
  • Help the main teacher during lessons
  • Get lesson materials and equipment ready
  • Assist with basic tasks like photocopying and filing
  • Be a positive and reliable adult role model

Requirements:

  • Strong Communication: Ability to clearly instruct small groups and communicate effectively with staff
  • Time Management & Reliability: Essential for being consistently on time and managing various classroom tasks
  • Patience and Empathy: Crucial for understanding and guiding students through complex or challenging work
  • Pro activity: The drive to see where help is needed and offer support without being asked
  • Subject Confidence: A willingness to engage with the demands of the secondary curriculum (GCSE/A-Level) to support students effectively
