Job Description:

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to make a significant impact in the lives of young learners? We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our dynamic team. This school provides specialised day placements for students aged 11 to 16 with diverse learning needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, dyslexia, autism spectrum conditions, and anxieties that present barriers to learning. This school is committed to creating an enabling environment where students can thrive academically and socially.

Job Responsibility:

Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
Assist students in actively participating in their academic and social activities
Promote student independence and contribute to their overall development
Support the class teacher in daily classroom operations
Contribute to a broad and balanced curriculum

Requirements:

GCSE Maths and English Language (Grade 4 or equivalent)
Experience working with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Ability to establish warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils
Promoting independence and maintaining high expectations of behaviour
Contributing to differentiated educational activities and experiences
Collaborative work within a multi-professional team
Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
Adaptability to varying and changing school needs
