Job Description:

We are looking to appoint a kind and caring Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to work in our inclusive and successful village school. This role could include working with groups or working 1-1 with a child with SEND needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • To prepare classroom and associated areas for use, setting out/putting away equipment, apparatus etc.
  • To participate in the planning process and discuss with relevant members of the teaching staff programmes for the lesson/ day/ week/ term
  • General observation of children, giving feedback to appropriate staff - as relevant
  • To monitor children's progress, or otherwise, identifying particular needs, difficulties, problems and, to discuss these with relevant member(s) of the teaching staff
  • To promote the positive image of the School within the local community

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working in the Early Years Foundation Stage, KS1 and a knowledge of SEN needs is desirable but not essential
  • A level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and Child protection
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of interacting with children
  • Able to relate well to children and facilitate their development
  • A genuine love of working with children
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure at all times

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience of working in the Early Years Foundation Stage, KS1 and a knowledge of SEN needs
  • A level 3 qualification
