Job Description

We are currently hiring Secondary Teaching Assistants to support students across Prescot, Huyton, Kirkby, and Whiston as we enter the final Summer Term of 2026. This is a high-impact period for Key Stage 3 and 4. Whether you are helping Year 7s settle into their secondary journey or providing vital exam-season support for Year 11s, your presence makes a difference. Joining us in May allows you to secure your spot for the remainder of the term and get a head start on long-term placements for September 2026.

Job Responsibility

Support learning by working with small groups or individuals to reinforce lesson objectives
Manage behaviour within the classroom to maintain a focused and positive environment
Prepare resources and set up equipment before lessons to ensure a smooth start
Safeguard pupils by following all school policies and child protection procedures
Assist the teacher with administrative tasks and the display of student work
Lead interventions for students requiring extra help with literacy or numeracy

Requirements

Previous experience in a school or similar environment
Strong communication, patience, and the ability to adapt to different learning needs
An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
