Support Student Success: Teaching Assistant Roles in Wigan! Are you a Level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistant ready to bring your talents to the classrooms of Wigan? We are looking for supportive and proactive individuals to join our team for an exciting start in January 2026. In a town with a proud heritage and a strong community heart, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of primary settings. Whether you are helping students master their phonics at the historic home of Wigan Pier or providing vital one-on-one support for children with additional needs, your contribution will be essential to the success of Wigan's next generation.

Job Responsibility:

Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning
Serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues
Foster positive relationships with children and their families
Collaborate with fellow staff members, including specialists
Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and activity setup
Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards
Provide assistance with lesson plans
Support children across the curriculum
Give extra support to children with special needs
Help mark work and report student progress
Help look after the children during school trips and activities
Look after children that are unwell
Attend meetings
Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups
A positive attitude and effective communication skills

Requirements:

Experience working with young people
Class management skills
Comfortable managing challenging behaviour
Able to engage with and motivate children
TA Qualified
