Job Description:

This school is a unique and caring educational community that supports children and young adults aged 5-19 with complex learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and additional needs. Based in the heart of Cranleigh, they provide a safe, nurturing environment where every individual can grow, thrive, and achieve their full potential. They are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their supportive and professional team.

Job Responsibility:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and ensuring that individual education plans (IEPs) are followed
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence and personal development
Support students with personal care, communication, and social skills where required
Help with classroom preparation, resource management, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for all
Work collaboratively with therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team to support students' holistic development

Requirements:

A passion for working with children and young adults with special educational needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges
Relevant experience in a similar role or an educational setting is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided
Willingness to support students with personal care needs
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
