Job Description:

Teaching Assistants Needed | Birkenhead. Due to rising demand across our local community, we are looking for motivated Teaching Assistants to join our secondary schools in Birkenhead and surrounding areas of Wirral. No two days are the same, but every day makes a genuine difference!

Job Responsibility:

  • Working with small groups of students to help them catch up in core subjects
  • Helping the teacher set up the classroom and get equipment ready for lessons
  • Making sure students stay on task and follow the classroom rules
  • Helping out with playground or break time supervision
  • Assisting students with their reading and writing skills
  • Checking that students have the right books and equipment for the day
  • Helping to display student work on classroom walls and boards
  • Escorting students between classes or on local school trips
  • Handing out worksheets and collecting completed assignments

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex ideas in simple, engaging ways
  • Resilience and patience when handling the fast-paced secondary school environment
  • An adaptable nature, ready to support different subjects and year groups throughout the day
  • Strong teamwork skills to work closely with teachers and school staff
  • Comfort using classroom technology and digital learning tools
  • good behaviour management skills
