Job Description:

Are you a supportive, enthusiastic, and reliable individual passionate about helping young people succeed in the classroom? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school community in Weymouth with an immediate start. As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, engagement, and wellbeing across the school day. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every learner feels encouraged and confident to reach their full potential. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in education, childcare, or support work who are eager to make a real difference.

Job Responsibility:

Provide in-class support to teachers and pupils across a range of subjects
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
Support pupils with SEN, behavioural needs, or additional learning requirements
Help to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and daily activities
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in pupils
Follow school safeguarding and behaviour management policies at all times

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
Patient, caring, and committed to supporting pupil development
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A positive, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting learning
Have the right to work in the UK
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection
