Job Description:

This role involves working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a school for children aged 7-19 with autism spectrum conditions, located in a stunning 22-acre environment. The school offers 1:1 support, small class sizes, exceptional facilities, and a nurturing learning environment. Main responsibilities include supporting students, collaborating with teachers, and contributing to a positive classroom environment. Training and professional development opportunities are provided.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support to students in the classroom
assist teachers with lessons
provide individualised support and help create a positive learning environment
collaborate with the class teacher
implement personalized learning plans
support students with a range of needs
provide help with activities, behaviour management, and personal care as required
create a positive and encouraging atmosphere
promote safety, belonging, and well-being
participate in ongoing professional development

Requirements:

A valid DBS check
a full driving licence (preferred)
a passion for supporting children with autism spectrum conditions
patience, care, and enthusiasm about supporting learners
experience working in education, children's homes, or EYFS (desirable)
experience with Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECs) or other communication tools for non-verbal learners (desirable)
experience with speech & language or BSL (desirable)

What we offer:

Term-time only contract
competitive salary of £19,000 per year, rising to £20,500 after 2 years
opportunity to work in the care setting for 16 hours per week during school holidays, adding an additional £2,000 to your salary after 6 months
