The Role: Making a Difference, Every Day As a Bank Staff Teaching Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the school community, providing crucial support where it's needed most for students with various SEN requirements. This is a flexible, 'bank staff' position, perfect for those looking for varied work schedules within term time. Location: Bristol, UK Pay Rate: £90 per day Working Hours: 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM (Typical school day hours) Contract Type: Bank Staff (Flexible/Ad-hoc)

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting Teachers: Assisting the classroom teacher to ensure lessons run smoothly and are inclusive for all learners
  • Facilitating Learning: Helping students with varied needs access and engage with a differentiated curriculum
  • Cultivating Positivity: Actively contributing to a safe, welcoming, and productive school environment
  • Targeted Support: Providing one-on-one or small group support to help students with their learning objectives, managing tasks, and overcoming academic or social-emotional challenges
  • Differentiated Assistance: Working with students across the SEN spectrum, adapting support methods to individual Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans
  • Classroom Management: Assisting in maintaining a focused and calm atmosphere, supporting behavioural and learning strategies set by the teacher
  • Student Well-being: Being a trusted point of contact, assisting with the pastoral care and overall well-being of the students, especially those facing SEMH difficulties
