Primary Supply Teaching Assistant - Flexible Work (Plymouth). Are you seeking a rewarding role in education that offers true professional flexibility? We are currently seeking a proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic Primary Supply Teaching Assistant to join a network of educational institutions in Plymouth. This position is ideal for experienced individuals who wish to make a meaningful impact in the classroom without the commitment of full-time planning and marking.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist class teachers with the preparation of learning resources and daily activities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for literacy and numeracy
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Contribute to effective classroom behaviour management to promote a safe and positive learning environment
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during break and lunch periods
  • Adhere strictly to individual school policies and safeguarding procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a classroom or similar educational setting
  • A reliable, punctual, and highly professional approach to your duties
  • The ability to adapt quickly and effectively to new school environments and routines
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the educational development of primary-aged students
  • An enhanced DBS check, or a willingness to undergo the necessary vetting process

  • Share relevant observations and progress updates with staff and, where appropriate, parents
  • Work alongside school therapists to implement recommended strategies linked to EHCP objectives
  • Support learning beyond the classroom where appropriate, including supervised use of community resources such as libraries, museums and other curriculum-relevant venues
