Teaching Assistant Wanted in Wirral! Are you an experienced professional from a Childcare, Youth Work, or Education background? We are seeking capable individuals to step into Secondary Teaching Assistant roles across the Wirral. We offer the ultimate flexibility, allowing you to choose between consistent long-term placements or the variety of day-to-day supply.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group academic support for students aged 11-16
  • Assist class teachers in managing classroom behaviour and student engagement
  • Help deliver pre-planned lesson materials across various secondary subjects
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and productive learning environment
  • Guide students through Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum goals
  • Act as a positive role model for teenagers within a mainstream school setting
  • Monitor and report on student attendance and academic participation

Requirements:

  • Solid experience working with children or young people in settings such as schools, youth clubs, or child care
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with teenagers and staff
  • A calm, patient approach when handling challenging situations or complex needs
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
