As a Full-time Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our lead teachers and helping students achieve their full potential. This position requires a deep understanding of educational principles, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for working with children. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various teaching assistant duties and be able to adapt to the diverse needs of our students and classroom environments.
Job Responsibility:
Assist lead teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand and complete assignments
Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and field trips
Collaborate with lead teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of classroom materials, equipment, and resources
Help with the assessment and evaluation of student progress, including grading assignments and tests
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate with parents as needed
Assist with classroom management and enforce school policies and procedures
Provide support for students with special needs or learning difficulties
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic progress
Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and organizing classroom materials
Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training programs
Assist with the setup and cleanup of classroom activities and projects
Support lead teachers in managing classroom behavior and implementing positive discipline strategies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred)
Associate’s degree with relevant experience may be considered
Proficiency in teaching assistant duties and responsibilities
Strong understanding of child development and learning theories
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to work well with children of various ages and abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proficiency in using educational technology and software
Knowledge of classroom management techniques and positive discipline strategies
Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom needs and situations
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
