As the blossoms reach full bloom and the final term of the year begins, secondary schools across Sefton are looking for inspiring individuals to join their support teams. If you are passionate about making a local impact and want to help our students end their academic year on a high, we would love to hear from you. We specialize in finding work right on your doorstep across all Sefton hubs: Southport & Ainsdale: PR8, PR9; Formby: L37; Crosby, Waterloo & Blundellsands: L22, L23; Maghull, Lydiate & Aintree: L31, L10; Bootle & Seaforth: L20, L21; Thornton & Hightown: L23, L38.

Job Responsibility

  • Support learning by working with small groups or individuals to reinforce lesson objectives
  • Manage behaviour within the classroom to maintain a focused and positive environment
  • Prepare resources and set up equipment before lessons to ensure a smooth start
  • Safeguard pupils by following all school policies and child protection procedures
  • Assist the teacher with administrative tasks and the display of student work
  • Lead interventions for students requiring extra help with literacy or numeracy

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs (SEN) or in a coaching/educational capacity
  • Strong communication, empathy, patience, and the ability to simplify complex tasks into manageable steps
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
