We're looking for a Teaching Assistant to join us in September 2025. We support autistic students aged 11-16, who may also have associated behavioural, communication, and multiple learning difficulties. Job Responsibility:
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils
Building positive relationships with students to help them feel safe and enjoy learning
Supporting positive behaviour and concentration levels, adapting your approach as needed
Promoting independence and personal development with high expectations
Assisting with the delivery of learning activities and providing resources
Giving meaningful feedback on student progress and attitudes
Requirements:
GCSE Maths and English Language (Grade 4 or equivalent)
Experience working with SEN (Special Educational Needs) in an employed or voluntary setting
Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Ability to provide consistent support and complete reports accurately
Willingness to participate in the school's behaviour support approach, including physical intervention (Team Teach accredited) when absolutely necessary and as a last resort
Nice to have:
A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent
