Teaching assistant

• Support the children with their learning and general wellbeing
• Foster a positive, safe, and nurturing atmosphere for every pupil
• Support children's learning and ensure they feel safe and able to learn and enjoy their time at school
• Ensure a high standard of personal care and carefully monitor the health and wellbeing of pupils
• Attend to pupils' personal needs when required, such as toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating
• Contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events
• Support positive behaviour and concentration levels, adopting a tailored approach to the individual child

• Previous experience (at least one year) of working within a relevant SEND Provision
• Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures is essential
• Level 2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent, or the willingness to work towards it
• A commitment to the role, the desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual
• You should be positive and creative in meeting pupils' needs
• A willingness to work co-operatively with colleagues, parents/carers and professionals involved
• Good interpersonal skills
