We are currently recruiting a calm, patient, and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in the Horsham area. This role involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day
Play a key role in helping students feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning
Adapt approach to meet emotional, behavioural, and educational needs
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Confidence supporting pupils within the classroom
Resilience and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations
Must be able to drive (due to rural location)
Right to work in the UK or hold a valid work visa
Provide suitable references for pre-employment checks
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Children’s Workforce (or Children’s & Adults’) update service, or be willing to obtain one
