Job Description:

Teaching Assistant Required in Specialist School Near Guildford. Immerse yourself in a vibrant educational environment at this 'Good' rated school located amidst the serene woodlands in Surrey. Specialising in exceptional education and care for students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, and more, the school is in search of a Level 1-2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of the students.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities
  • Provide valuable feedback on student progress and achievement
  • Monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils' progress in line with school policies
  • Support positive behaviour and focus, adapting approach as needed
  • Promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, and uphold British values within the PSHE framework
  • Foster students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being through a holistic curriculum
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist where needed in the dynamic SEN environment

Requirements:

  • Experience in an SEN role, either employed or voluntary
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Recognised Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable)
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience with pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD
  • A child-first approach
  • Creativity and positivity in meeting pupils' needs
