This unique primary and secondary setting currently supports 95 learners with Social, Emotional, or Mental Health (SEMH) needs. What You'll Do: Empowering Every Learner, Every Day As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be an integral part of our supportive educational team. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom. Providing targeted, specialist support to small groups of 3-7 learners with complex needs. Collaborating effectively with other teaching assistants to deliver holistic support. Assisting in the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons and educational activities. Offering crucial 1:1, small group, and whole-class support to learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Actively contributing to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students. Assisting with the planning and preparation of learning resources and activities. Monitoring and recording student progress, providing valuable feedback to the class teacher. Maintaining a safe, orderly, and conducive classroom environment. What We're Looking For: Your Skills and Passion The ideal candidate will be empathetic, proactive, and committed to supporting young people. You'll need: Relevant SEN experience: A minimum of 6 months - 1+ years of experience is preferred, demonstrating your capability in supporting complex needs. Experience (voluntary or paid) working with children and young adults. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent are essential. Eligibility to work in the UK. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are crucial for this role. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating for the best outcomes. A strong commitment to supporting the social, emotional, and general well-being of students. Proficiency in SEN support and strong classroom management skills. Professional knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and child development.
