Job Description:

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference in the lives of students with diverse needs? Randstad Education is proud to support a warm and welcoming specialist school in Surrey for students aged 11 to 16. We cater to a range of needs including autism spectrum conditions, associated behaviours, moderate learning difficulties, and specific learning difficulties. Our vision is to create an inclusive environment where all our students can develop and thrive.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students in the classroom and during activities
  • Assisting teachers in delivering a broad, personalised curriculum
  • Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour effectively and promoting positive interactions
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally in a school setting
  • A genuine understanding and empathy for students with autism spectrum conditions, moderate learning difficulties, or specific learning difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles

Nice to have:

experience in managing challenging behaviour
