A brand-new, specialist secondary school in Chaldon, Surrey, opened last September. We are looking for an intervention-focused Teaching Assistant who understands that 'behaviour is communication.' This is a unique opportunity to join a founding team and help shape the therapeutic environment for young people aged 11-16 with Autism, sensory processing needs, and emotional regulation challenges.
Job Responsibility
Analyse and adapt: provide meaningful feedback on student behaviour and attitudes, helping to refine individual learning plans
Implement strategy: use positive behaviour management and tailored interventions to help students navigate sensory and emotional escalations
Foster independence: empower students to build self-regulation skills and personal autonomy
Safe environment: ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and mental wellbeing for every pupil
Requirements
Degree in Psychology or a related field
Prior experience as a TA or in a care setting, specifically working with neurodivergent individuals
A curiosity about why children behave the way they do and a resilience to support them through their most difficult moments
