Job Description:

The Role: More Than Just a Teaching Assistant. No two days are the same here, and neither are our children. We are looking for extraordinary adults who can provide consistent, flexible, and non-judgmental support to children with complex and challenging behaviours. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be a vital part of our school community, wearing many hats and being prepared to change them at a moment's notice! Your ability to be resilient, persistent, and solution-focused will be key to meeting our pupils' diverse needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support teaching and learning, working both 1:1 and with small groups of students
  • Manage classroom resources and create engaging displays
  • Accompany children on educational trips and visits
  • Have lunch with children who may struggle socially
  • Keep children safe during heightened behaviours
  • Create, play, and teach games to pupils
  • Celebrate every success
  • Actively participate in therapeutic training sessions and reflective practice
  • Contribute to decision-making, academic curriculum and extra-curricular offerings

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour
  • Good basic understanding of English and Maths
  • Resilient, persistent, and solution-focused
  • Ability to be flexible and non-judgmental
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
