Seeking Teaching Assistants at a Progressive SEN School in Cranleigh... The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is dedicated to fostering a supportive atmosphere where each child is empowered to achieve their full potential, regardless of their unique challenges.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide personalised support to students with a variety of special educational needs, including those displaying challenging behaviours
  • Assist in the facilitation of engaging classroom activities while maintaining a positive and safe learning environment
  • Offer personal care support, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene assistance, as required
  • Implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with classroom teachers
  • Foster an encouraging environment that enhances student engagement and participation
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive education and care

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is advantageous, but not mandatory
  • Capacity to manage and respond constructively to challenging behaviours
  • Willingness to provide personal care as needed
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and off-site activities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A compassionate demeanour, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with SEN
